Pierian Spring Academy of Arts & Sciences

Pierian Spring Academy of Arts & Sciences is a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math (STEAM) school specializing in developing students to compete in the world of technology by introducing them to a project-based, hands-on learning environment.

We offer a mixed-age classroom environment, offering multi-sensory support for our learners in the core academic areas, as well as integrated computer science, technology and life-skills.  Our class ratios are 12:1 or smaller!  We utilize a block schedule of classes, which resembles a college schedule.  Off-schedule care is available at an additional cost.

We offer an Orton Gillingham-based reading program, including one-on-one and small-group language-based tutoring, to ensure that our learners with specific learning differences (such as dyslexia and dysgraphia) can flourish in a supportive environment, which will allow them to learn to appreciate their true gift.

Students at the Pierian Spring Academy of Arts & Sciences are an integral part of the academic team.  Students make decisions that impact the courses they take, and are encouraged to self-assess to keep their goals current.  The goal is to encourage a broad range of experiences to allow the student to recognize and reach his/her true potential.

Our 2016-2017 School year programs include:

Grades K-5 – Our youngest learners get hands-on essentials to learning, incorporating Science and Technology into tactile learning activities.  Our K-5 schedule block is Monday-Thursday 9am-1pm.  Additional extended care is available at an additional cost.

STEAMOnly Enrichment Program – K-5 students also have the option of joining our bi-weekly STEM-Only block.  Students will attend STEAM classes twice per week for 2-3 hours per week, during our STEM block.

Grades 6-12  – Our high school students receive targeted, multi-sensory learning in an environment that is adapted to the students’ learning styles.  Our students are placed based on ability, rather than traditional grade levels. Students receive one-on-one attention, and work towards mastery in the given subjects.  Emphasis is placed on allowing our students to experience career and life skills in practical applications in order to help prepare them to choose the next level of life.
